Biography

Dr. Rachelle H. Ramos brings over 30 years of clinical expertise to her practice and has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 2001. Licensed to practice medicine and surgery in New York since 2000, she runs an independent private psychiatry practice specializing in eating disorders, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, PTSD, and mood disorders.

In 2007, Dr. Ramos became a Clinical Instructor at New York University School of Medicine, where she has lectured and supervised psychiatry fellows, residents, externs, medical students, psychologists, and social workers on subjects including community psychiatry, psychopharmacology, pharmacogenetics, psychodynamic psychotherapy, DBT, travel therapy, and disaster psychiatry since 1992. Her teaching experience extends across institutions such as Cornell, Columbia, NYU, LIJ Hillside, and Bellevue/NYU.

From 2004 to 2008, she served as Unit Chief of the Power Day Treatment Program at Bellevue Hospital/New York University, managing a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and therapists. During this period, she authored a scholarly article on metabolic syndrome and psychotropic medications, which she presented at the American Psychiatric Association Conference in Toronto.
