Biography
Dr. Rebecca MacLean Wahl is a Harvard- and Yale-trained psychiatrist who specializes in the nuanced connection between medical and psychiatric health. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard University, she earned her medical degree and completed her residency at the Yale School of Medicine, where she was honored with the Janet M. Glasgow Award.
Board-certified in both Psychiatry and Neurology and Obesity Medicine, Dr. Wahl cares for individuals with anxiety, OCD, ADHD, mood and bipolar disorders, eating disorders, trauma, substance use, and psychiatric conditions intertwined with medical illness. Her career has spanned both inpatient and outpatient settings, including Yale New Haven Hospital and the University of Washington, where she served as a Clinical Assistant Professor.
Dr. Wahl is currently the Principal Psychiatrist at Whiting Forensic Hospital and is known for her thoughtful expertise in testimony before the Connecticut Psychiatric Security Review Board. Her approach blends strong clinical training with deep attunement—meeting patients with steadiness, clarity, and respect for their lived experience.
